Robert Arthur Moore Esq.

Robert Arthur Moore Esq.
Senior Attorney

Robert Moore obtained a BA in French, with a minor in International Studies from Eastern Kentucky University. He obtained a J.D., and certificate in Global Legal Studies from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating with honors. At law school he participated in ADR society as a member and officer and competed in a negotiations competition, and moot court. He passed the California State Bar Exam on his first attempt and was admitted to practice in 2006.

Prior to admission to the California State Bar, he worked multiple jobs which provided a breadth of experience and created an understanding of working conditions and work environments beyond mere academic knowledge. This included work in landscaping, in restaurants, as a gas station clerk, while at university; as a French language technical support team member for a printer company during the summer between graduating from university and commencing law school, and as a law clerk, warehouse workers, and campground attendant during law school and while awaiting bar results.

After admission to the California State Bar, he began his legal career working at Kampf, Schiavone, and Associates working as a civil litigator and then workers’ compensation attorney. He completed 8 jury trials, obtaining favorable verdicts in the majority of cases. He joined the defense firm Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton & Muehl in 2010 as a work comp defense attorney and has worked as a work comp defense attorney exclusively since that time, for law firms, and just prior to joining the Defense Advocacy Law Firm, as Senior Counsel for Woolford & Associates, staff counsel for Travelers Insurance.

As defense counsel he has successfully litigated many cases to “take nothing” findings on case-in chief and lien files; and has obtained many no-pay dismissals when possible. He has used discovery, negotiations, and litigation to limit exposures by posturing cases for settlement or trial; settling cases for reasonable value when possible, and by litigating when necessary.
