Dr. Robert Aguilar, Jr. Graduated with a Juris Doctor from Pacific Coast University School of Law, where he served as President of The Student Bar Association. He also possesses a Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) in Journalism from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Theology from Kings College of London. His undergraduate studies were in Communications, Film Production, and Screenwriting.

For more than a decade, Dr. Aguilar has developed an expertise that encompasses all aspects of workers’ compensation defense, including defense of labor code §132a, serious and willful petitions, toxic exposure, asbestos, catastrophic claims, and fraud. Dr. Aguilar thrives in cost containment practices that have resulted in mitigating loss for thousands of claims and saving millions of dollars for his clients. He has advocated for several large corporate clients and small businesses in defense of workers’ compensation claims and has successfully defended many high-valued claims on behalf of his clients.

His experience extends not only to firms covering the entire state of California, but also to in-house litigation with the California Insurance Guarantee Association, and national insurance carrier, Amtrust Financial Services. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County.

Before entering the legal profession, Dr. Aguilar served as a Reservist in the United States Marine Corps (Semper Fi) and had a successful and award-winning career as a screenwriter, director, and producer for feature films and television before retiring to spend more time with his daughter.

He spends his free time still consulting on various film and television productions and prides himself in being an ordained minister who advocates for disconnected and estranged fathers seeking to reconnect with their children. He established the “Project Patriarch Ministry” non-profit where he speaks to, and coaches incarcerated men to help them develop skills and make changes that would allow them to re-enter society and become active fathers and mentors to their children.
